Kaylynn Love Yang
Born and raised in Southern California, Kaylynn found her love in the arts at a very young age. Beginning with dance, Kaylynn has been a competitive ballroom latin dancer since the age of seven. From that, she has earned several accolades, including placing as a runner-up in the 2022 World Dancesport Championship and champion in the 2020 Junior Olympics Dancesport Series.
Further divulging into her interest in the arts, Kaylynn discovered her passion for photography in the beginning of freshman year and has used her camera to document her life and as a creative outlet ever since. From photography, she has also received many awards, including most recently honored with three Silver Keys and three Honorable Mentions from the esteemed Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, along with receiving an Honorable Mention from the North American Jostens Photography Contest, appearing on their 2023 vision book delivered across the nation.
Kaylynn studies at St. Margaret's Episcopal School, a school determined on nurturing her creativity, artistic expression and personal statement.
People describe Kaylynn to be a creative, determined, hard-working, and free-spirited individual. She is someone who is especially passionate in what she believes in: a theme that definitely shines through in her photographs.
In her work, she connects two of her favorite things, photography and dance, and best described by a quote she lives by: "I dance because I wish to feel. I photograph because I wish to remember."
